Green wellies and Barbours, woolly hats and mufflers a’plenty, all in the Wellie Room ready for you. Our ladies make sure you are always warm whatever the vagaries of the weather.

This is the occasion when the wilder the weather, the better the sport. Up at six o’clock with coffee and bacon rolls in the Gun Hall. Off in the Land Rovers to Lochs Wester and Winless after a briefing by Hamish and pegs drawn. Hamish decides, based on wind and bird patterns. If it's Wester then the first party are down close to the track, an easy walk to the hides by the Loch.

We sometimes have a little fun with the pigeons in the Doocot. Many a pigeon has sailed merrily past seven guns to return in the evening and tell the tale. At twilight it's off to Killimster or Wester to lie in wait for the returning geese.

Dinners in the Great Hall, kilts and Imperials. Stories to relate in the Smoking Room and a late frame of snooker into the wee small hours. There are deep, comfy armchairs by the fire to snuggle into with a good book. We always have a ceilidh with Highland lassies and pipes and fiddle. The men in their kilts and the ladies in their finery. The beauty therapists and reflexologists are waiting to pamper. A truly wonderful time to relax and enjoy before settling down to Winter.
So come and join the party.
