Celebrate
new beginnings, opportunities and a fresh start and do it in a fine
Scottish castle on the very edge of the sea. The house is decorated
with four tall Christmas trees covered in seasonal tartan bows and presents,
holly and mistletoe galore. It is a very traditional time. Long walks
on the beach, sometimes with a Winters gale bringing a spectacular
sea over the ramparts.
Sometimes sunny and warm with clear nights and the Northern Lights to
make the visit truly memorable. Ackergill has the same ambient Winter
temperature as Kew Gardens so there are always surprises to wake up
to.
We always play golf, walk with the ranger, shoot the duck, fly a few
clays and pull a few triggers in the rifle range. Perhaps dodge through
The Spiders Web or have a go on The Trebuchet. Theres always
laughter and fun.
We will have a Grand Hogmanay Ball in the Opera House in Highland Dress.
We always celebrate in style.
An Imperial of claret at dinner, drams galore. Christopher on the pipes,
the Highland lassies doing their flings, Addie on the squeeze box, Gordon
on the fiddle. Then it's the Bells at Midnight and another year.
You will all know the words of A Guid New Year to An and All
and Johnnie will certainly make sure you know all the verses of Auld
Lang Syne. A first-footing, a tall dark stranger, a piece of coal.
A Happy New Year.
Above all Hogmanay is a time for family and friends. To be with the
ones you know and to meet others of kindred spirit and fun.
So come and join us - but book very early or you may be too late!
